Effective October 2026
Lantern is a photo editor made by Derek Nelson. This page explains what this website collects and what happens to it. It covers lantern.photo and the beta waitlist, not the Lantern app itself.
What we collect
When you request a beta invite, we collect:
- Your email address
- The platforms you edit on, if you choose any
- The camera brand you shoot with, if you choose one
That's all. This site has no ads, no tracking pixels, no session recording, and no analytics cookies. Our fonts are hosted on this site, so your visit isn't shared with a font service.
How we use it
We use your email to invite you to the beta and to send occasional updates about Lantern. We use your platform and camera answers to decide who to invite first and which cameras to test. We never sell or rent your information.
Who else handles it
- Loops stores the waitlist and sends our emails.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it processes basic request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
Your choices
Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. To see, correct, or delete what we hold about you, email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until the beta program ends and we no longer need them.
Children
Lantern isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change affects how we use your information, we'll email you first.
